1. It’s a self-defense mechanism. For some people who’s gone through major heartbreak(s), you got so traumatized your heart can’t bear any more injury. So you friendzone him because you’re afraid something might ruin the future relationship and cause you further pain. Call me paranoid, but I can see you nodding.
2. You love him so much to the point that you can’t afford to lose his presence in your life. No one can guarantee bestfriends that turn into couple will be ever lasting. So rather than losing a dear friend, you prefer to remain in status quo. They’re too precious to be gambled in the future.
